This morning saw an early wake up for our divers as we launched from Kleinbaai harbour early due to the tides. We headed out with the sun rising over the mountains and were the first boat to anchor in the Shallows. The sharks were around from the get go with our first shark seen as people were changing into wetsuits. Not long after our second shark arrived which was “Rosie” and our third which was “Little Rosie”, two of the favourite females in the bay at the moment and we were lucky enough to have them both! We had a great variety of sizes and gender around the boat today and they kept coming with some amazing activity which helped to make up for the challenging visibility with the red tide still sticking around. We had a new arrival today in the form of “Paisley” a female White shark that was tagged on the 1st of December last year and has not been seen yet in 2016 until today, welcome back “Paisley”. We also had a large male shark that we know as “Tiger” do a swim by. This animal was one of the first sharks we spotted after our 3 weeks with no sharks and it appears he is still in the bay! Towards the end of our trip the water had cleared a little thanks to a change in wind direction and we had a Short-tailed stingray turn up for the last cage. Before heading back to land we swung by Shark Alley to have a look at the Cape Fur seals.

As the last few days we were anchored in the shallows. On our second trip for the day we were spotted in total eight different sharks. We had quite a few smaller ones around the boat, but they were actively going for the bait and decoy. The biggest one for the trip was a male with 4m in length named Tiger as he has a few scratched on its head looking like a tiger pattern. Overall it was a great day.
