Trip 1
We wondered what would the first day of the week but last day of the month have install for us? Our visitors this morning had to practice a lot of patience on our first trip with an hour and a half wait and anchor changes before the first shark was sighted. This was one of our male White sharks that was tagged acoustically in September of this year. Later on in the trip another of our recently tagged males showed up. The rest of this morning’s fishy visitors were larger females including “Sally” and “Scarlett” both 4.0m+. This trip also had a Short-tailed stingray came up from the depths.
Trip 2
The second trip got off to a better staret with sharks around almost immediately after the boat arrived. “Sally” was the only shark to revisit from the first trip, we did however see some of our recently sighted female sharks including “Paisley” who was tagged last December, “Mulfur”, “Gigi” and “Momi”. A trip dominated by the female White sharks of the bay.
Trip 3
The third and final trip for the day headed out and was greeted by a dark, sharky shadow cruising just under the waters’ surface not too far from where we were. Once our divers were ready it was straight into the water for our first cage. This trip saw some fantastic, constant activity from the sharks yet it deferred from the two previous trips in that it was the males that dominated the afternoon with the most active shark of the trip being a very darkly coloured male approximately 3.0m in length that spent most of the trip around the boat, getting very close to the cage allowing our divers and those on board an excellent view of the Great White shark.
