The morning did start overcast and early, but we had sharks after a few minutes. We were spoiled this morning with the great white sharks. They were active and numerous around our vessel Slashfin. In total we had 10 different great white sharks during the whole trip. The smallest was around 3 meter and the biggest we spotted just over 4 meter.

The second trip of the day and we got sharks almost immediately! Warmer water and some improved viz allowed for better diving conditions than we have had previously this week. The majority of sharks today measured between 3-3.5m. A huge 4.4m male truly stole the show when he gave the second cage some very close sightings of his tremendous size. We also saw a short tailed stingray which seemed to like the decoy! A great trip all in all, and to end off we were accompanied back to the harbour by a cheeky Sub Antarctic Skua.

Our last trip for the day was just as exciting as the previous trips. The shark activity was still as good as in the morning. “Mini Rosie” came and visited us, she did stick around our vessel for a while before some bigger sharks arrived. The biggest we encountered on the last trip was 4.3 meter. This big shark came up a few times before he disappeared in the bay. Just before heading back to the harbour another big shark with 4 meter appeared.
