Sightings: Great White Sharks

We are finally back at sea after a short storm we had around here. And according to the sightings, sharks missed us just as much as we missed them! What an incredible trip to start our day with. Once we got to the cage, our divers quickly changed into their wetsuits and were ready to jump into the cage at the first sight of a shark. They did not make us wait for too long, and the first shark to greet us at the shallows were Shaun the shark, our 3.3m male, as usual slowly cruising along the cage. Then for a very brief period of time a juvenile 2.5m female showed up but decided not to stick with us for too long. And then an extremely active female showed up giving us quite a performance at our bait lines, leaping out of the water and showing off her beauty. Another smaller female showed up but once again decided to stay away from us fro the rest of the trip. And once we thought we couldn’t get any luckier than that, Clampy, our large 4.5m female went fro our lines and stayed with us for the rest of the trip, giving everyone a chance to enjoy her underwater.
The second trip launched and we were off to a great start with Shaun, the 3.3m White shark appearing quickly. Soon after through arrived the shark of the day, the active female from the first trip. This appears to be a new shark in the bay for the season, with a very distinctive dark spot just behind the dorsal fin on the trunk she is easy to spot as she approaches and we saw this shark for the remainder of the trip! We also had three juveniles visit this afternoon, with one very small individual, approximately 2.0m in length with a stunningly light dorsal surface colouring to it and to round off the trip was Clampy, that beautfiul 4.5m female.
We would like to wish a jawsome 11th Birthday to Stefanos, who decided to celebrate his special day with us and the sharks!
