Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: 15.4°C + 15.8°C

Depth: 9.5m + 10.2m

Visibility: 4m + 4m

Conditions:  Slight sea mist, but calm seas and stunning visibility

Our ride out to the shallows was stunning this morning in the calm seas. We arrived and geared our clients up into their suits and then waited for the sharks to arrive! We waited only 15 minutes before our first curious copper shark turned up, soon followed by a few more! We got some lovely activity from the sharks this morning, with our divers enjoying some excellent visibility underwater today! We got a cape fur seal around half way through the trip, seemingly chasing the mullet around in an attempt to feed. The activity of the sharks was good throughout and all our divers had the opportunity of wonderful shark viewing this morning. So we finished up and then headed back to the harbour!

We headed straight back to our dive site for our second trip. However, the moment we arrived at the site, we barely had the cage in the water when one of our crew yelled: White Shark. After two weeks, the dark shape of our famous animals finally appeared in the water, and the large female briefly passed by our vessel. However, before our guests could get into their wetsuits, the White shark disappeared back into the depths. Soon after her disappearance the Copper sharks arrived, and our divers witnessed their amazing beauty below the water surface. We soon headed back to shore where our guests finished their trip with some vegetable soup and homemade bread, still thinking of the beautiful sharks of Gansbaai.
