This morning we launched a little later, so our cage divers got a little bit of a sleep in this morning! But they were ready to go go nonetheless! As we got to the shallows this morning, it was a little breezy but pretty comfortable on the water. As we waited for a shark this morning, we chatted lots of shark facts on the boat, and then Alfred spotted us a great white. This shark was the same 2.8m male that has been cruising around the shallows He came and went through the entire trip, giving some of our lucky divers some spectacular passes. We also saw a short tailed stingray at the surface for a brief moment, which was excellent! Successful trip done we headed back to the harbour to get our next group.

On our second trip we also waited a little while, but we got ourselves a shark and our divers jumped into the cage with some spectacular enthusiasm. We got some nice activity from this shark, which then disappeared into the gloom! This was the juvenile male that has been the main shark for the two previous sea days. He made didn’t stick around long this afternoon, but that could have been because of what came next! The second shark was a beaut as a very dark, grey shark came cruising in deep, it’s shadow already showing that we had a new, larger shark on our hands and as it came nearer to the surface we were able to truly enjoy the sight of an estimated 3.8m female. She stuck around for some time, with some fast and feisty attitude to this shark seen before she too disappeared. The shark is a new sighting for this season and also not one that we know well at all. We had one more shark appear before the days end, a small juvenile, approximately 2.0m in length, this little shark seemed to just want to see what all the fuss was about for itself so made an approach to the surface and then dove down not to be seen again. A lovely end to a successful day.
