This morning was a time for the Copper sharks to shine with our morning trip launching early, arriving on anchor shortly after and quickly having the Copper sharks appear. These sharks were consistently seen throughout the morning with at least six different individuals cruising by along with the Short-tailed stingray however no White sharks were seen on our first trip this morning as well as amongst any of the other boats out on the water at the time.
The second trip of the day launched and had those Copper sharks around almost instantly but within an hour of re-anchoring a White shark approached. This was the small male that we have been seeing for quite a few days, approximately 2.8m in length and easy to identify through a fresh wound on the right side of the jaw and some old scars along it’s trunk.
Slashfin’s third and final trip of the day launched and headed back into the Shallows to try their luck. The Copper sharks appeared quickly and were around for the entire trip, unfortunately this trip like the first did not encounter any White sharks.
