Trip 1
Rise and shine shark cage divers its time to board Slashfin! Thankfully the sharks were also up early this morning and our first sharks arrived five minutes after we did. Moments later our second shark arrived and it was a pleasant surprise in the form of a smaller male shark by the name “Mini Nemo”. This shark was named so due to the right pectoral fin being stunted just like the character from Finding Nemo. This shark has not been seen since last year and is always welcome around the boat due to his amazing activity and is a favourite amongst the crew and our visitors who are lucky enough to meet him. We also had another very well known male shark show up named “Sellendilloh” an Ocearch tagged individual that you can find more information on here.
Trip 2
The second trip of the day launched and we had a nice sized female around not long after arrival followed by a huge female close to 4.5m in length. This trip was then dominated by the juvenile White sharks as sharks under the 3.0m length continued to glide by.
Trip 3
The third and final trip started off well with sharks around soon after we arrived. This trip was yet again dominated by the juveniles and small sharks came in left, right and centre showing off why the little sharks are just as impressive as the large ones with the way that they move and how fast they move! We had “Mini Nemo” show up again towards the end of the trip, becoming a favourite amongst the group on board along with the large female spotted on the second trip.
