Trip 1
It was a later launch for our morning trip today as our first group headed out at 10am. Whilst the conditions were not favourable with some higher winds causing chop on the water it was relatively comfortable for our visitors and the shark activity was amazing! The first shark was around straight after anchor and the activity didn’t stop. We had three of our acosutically tagged animals with two males tagged in September of this year and the female “Paisley” who was tagged last December. Stand out of the trip was in the end the largest shark of the morning and indeed the day with “Scarlett”, a female White shark estimated at 4.2m in length, she spent most of the morning with us and our guests truly appreciated her slow passes and spyhopping that we associate with this shark.
Trip 2
The second trip of the day launched and had much of the same success as the first with a White shark spotted almost instantly. We had many of the sharks from the first trip back for the afternoon including two of the tagged animals, one of the males and “Paisley” and yet again “Scarlett” who proved to yet again be the star of the show with the same amazing behaviour from earlier in the day.
Two fantastic trips out on board Slashfin.
