Sightings:  Great White Sharks, Bronze whalers

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Moderate

Another early start fro us today, but if we want to see some sharks we are ready to pay for that! And another absolutely incredible trip with 6(!!!) different great white sharks ranging from 2.5m to 4.5m. Once we got to our dive spot our shrakies did not let us wait for too long and we started our adventure with a beautiful 2.5m female. Shortly after that we got ourselves Shaun, another 3m male and a very feisty 2.8m shark, that was unfrotunately too fast for us to identify its gender. And then when we thought this day couldn’t get any better a beautiful 4.5m white shark called Clampy came out of nowhere and left everyone in awe because of her impressive size. Once evryone got their chance4 in the cage we were ready to head back to the harbour to give others the chance to enjoy our wildlife.

Just as soon as Slashfin was ready fro its second group we launched from Kleinbaai harbour and shortly after that picked up our cage in the Shallows. Even though we didn’t get as many sharks as on the first trip the activity was absolutely incredible. The star of this trip was Shaun, giving us nice deep passes along the cage and being very relaxed which is very common for this individual shark, but then all of a sudden he confuses a shadow from a flying by seagull with something in the water and lunges himself into a full breach at the back of the boat. Flying sharks? Yes, we have those too! After everyone was done we changed into the dry clothes and made our way to the harbour.

Back at it again for our third and final trip we yet again had little time to wait for our sharks to appear, what a day! The male Great White sharks really dominated this trip with Shaun and the 3.0m male making an appearance for our guests and giving us some of the best passes and views throughout the trip. Not to be forgotten, a juvenile female made a spectacular approach on the line whilst Clampy, our big 4.5m female came by a few times just to show everyone just how impressively large these animals can get.
