Some bad weather conditions saw Slashfin heading out early this morning with our first and only trip. We headed for the Islands and sought out the protection of the Islands as we anchored behind Geyser Rock. Before settling down to wait for the sharks we make a quick turn by the Cape Fur seal inhabitants of Geyser Rock, having a closer look at the main food source for the White sharks of the area. Once on anchor we didn’t have long to wait till our first shark arrived, this was a small White shark that was a little on the shy side but the next shark showed a bit more activity as he swam nice and close to the cage for our divers to see. The activity slowed after the first cage yet towards the end a juvenile female we have seen frequently over the last two weeks turned up and made up for the great patience of the group in the water! We had two more turn up throughout the rest of the trip, one happy to come close and interact, the other a male who usually is quite active but today appeared to not be his day and he kept his distance as he made a few passes. A wild Winters day out on the water with some wild sightings of these magnificent creatures.
