Trip 1
This Sunday saw an early start for our first trip and our White sharks that took close to an hour to appear however the most important thing is that they did in the end! This trip was dominated by the smaller White sharks with all four being under the 4.0m size and the two most active animals also being the smaller of the four. This trip saw a juvenile female we have become very familiar with and refer to as “Spagetti” due to the presence of a tag tether under the dorsal fin on the right side.

Trip 2
The second trip of the day had sharks around on arrival with a very large female appearing and 20 minutes later more White sharks started to appear. This trip saw a great mix of size ranges with representations from all lifestages of the White sharks, juvenile, sub-adult and adult. Two of the sharks that appeared were ones we know very well with “Paisley” one of our acoustically tagged animals causing a stir around Slashfin and also “Gigi” one of our recently adopted, named and monitored sharks coming in towards the end of the trip.

Trip 3
The third and final trip started off well with a shark sighted cruising along the side of our boat as we approached our waiting cage. This was a very large female, the largest White shark we are currently seeing around the boat at the moment infact. A fantastic way to start any trip however she did not stick around long and was happy to just cruise on by. The activity then became very slow but every now and again a shark would come on by. We had two males approach both quite active when they were around and two other females that came up for a closer investigation of the happenings before disappearing.

A FINtastic day to end this week.
