The sun had just risen over the horizon when we headed out to The Shallows. When we arrived our divers quickly got into their wetsuits and patiently waited for the first sharks to arrive. Luckily our divers didn’t have to wait long, as soon the first Copper sharks rose up from the deep. Our divers jumped into the cage and were amazed as the sharks swam within inches of them. Despite the swell, our divers had an amazing time viewing our sharks up close. Later in the trip, one of the endangered African Penguins from Dyer Island briefly swam by, while a few of our guests saw a pair of dolphins as well. Soon we headed back to shore, where our guests enjoyed some soup and bread, and for those who needed it, some nice cold ginger ale.
Our second trip launched and we headed back to our cage in the shallows. Because of the chance of rain this morning, we’d already dressed into our suits on land so we could get sharky straight away. And it wasn’t long until our first few copper sharks appeared around the cage! Our eager divers got ready and into the cage, to face some magnificent activity with the copper sharks. We had some stunning close passes by the cage, much to the delight of our divers! With the activity of the sharks pretty steady through the trip, all our divers got an excellent oppportunity to see the sharks both from the cage and onboard Slashfin. As our final group hopped out of the water, we pulled the cage and headed back to land to enjoy the afternoon sunshine!
