Monday funday with three trips lined up for Slashfin today. We launched bright and early onto a beautiful bay with the wind right down and just a rolling swell lingering around from the previous day. We were the first boat out and settled onto anchor quickly to begin the waiting game, which didn’t last too long with the first big, dark, fishy shadow was spotted approaching the boat approximately 40 minutes into our first trip. The first day of the new week turned out to be very successful with a number of large females approaching the boat, many such as the 4.3m individual sporting a fish hook in the left side of her jaw and the smaller female with the clamp marks on the dorsal fin did not seem interested in staying around too long, however we did have one female, we know as Taryn-it-up appear and behave like she was in the mood to hang with us. We also had what appears to be new visitors to the boat today with a number of brief encounters with smaller sharks that have not documented by the Marine Dynamics team over the last four weeks in which we have had consistant shark sightings. A great thing to be able to say we are still seeing new individuals entering the bay, if only every Monday could be like today…
