Conditions: Overcast with calm, flat seas.

The overcast skies were not the only things to greet us as we headed out to our dive site for the morning! A Subantarctic Skua, swooped around Slashfin as we made our way into the Shallows. These birds make their way up North after breeding in the Antarctic, this is one of the first days that we have seen this species of bird in 2015! We had quite a wait for the sharks to arrive this morning, with an hour of patience by those on board, however as in most instances patience paid off and we had two females approximately 3.5m and 3.1m in length cruise by at the same time. Once these first two sharks showed up he arrival of new sharks was consistent throughout the trip with “Sellendilloh” a male Great White with a satellite SPOT tag attached coming by following by our largest sharks of the day, two big males measuring in at approximately 4.3m. A wonderful morning out in the bay…
