Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, Broadnose sevengill shark
Summary: A return back to the water after Christmas festivities! Launching from the local Kleinbaai harbour, we made our way through reduced swell and stronger winds to the dive site in the shallows. Dropping anchor, it was already clear that water conditions were great for diving, with improved visibility making it easy to spot the arrival of our first wildlife sighting for the day, the Bronze whaler shark. These sharks were seen throughout the trips, mainly consisting of large females. Guests were spoilt with other species sightings, such as the massive Short-tail stingray and even a Broadnose sevengill shark for the second trip of the day; the first sighting after almost 2 months! Thank you to everyone who joined us on board Slashfin today, it was a pleasure sharing our sightings with you!
