Sightings: Bronze Whaler

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Cold

Visibility: Moderate

A stunning Friday at sea with the bays water resembling glass as we experienced no swell and wind. The first trip of the day was rewarded for their early rising hour with a beautiful sunset over the mountains, with Slashfin one of the first vessels to anchor in the Shallows. The Bronze whalers the first to arrive and whilst it was a little slow in the beginning it didn’t take long to have some fantastic activity seen infront of the cage and around the boat.

The next trip of the day followed on in a similar fashion to the first, as those golden coloured sharks reappeared and the second group of guests were able to enjoy this fantastic species of shark that we are so lucky to see. Throughout the day a hunting Cape Fur seal was also seen around the bay, apparently on the look out for a tasty treat.
