We launched this morning into the calmest seas that you will ever find in Gansbaai. There is no better place to be than on the water today. Our guests were treated to very consistent activity from our copper sharks. We also had visits from a short-tailed stingray and a very cheeky cape fur seal. The seal seemed to be having quite a good time playing all around the boat and giving the smaller fish quite a fright. The best news was yet to come…..as we were waiting for permission to enter the harbour a southern right whale calf in the distance decided to put on a breaching show.

On our second trip we once again headed out on the flat sea. The moment we arrived at The Shallows, our first visitor was a cape fur seal. It wasn’t long before the first copper sharks arrived and our guests enthusiastically got into the cage. The copper sharks thrilled our guests as the swam around the cage. However, we soon heard that another vessel in the area was visited by a great white. We quickly picked up our anchor and relocated. The moment we arrived at our new site, an airy feeling fell over the boat as the anticipation rose. Soon a mist fell over the area. The anticipation paid off as the white shark jumped up out of the deep and it’s shadowy silhouette passed below the bow of the boat. The white shark at the end of the trip put an exciting end to the trip.
