Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingrays. African penguins + Cape fur seal
Summary: A beautiful day on the water with an abundance of marine life to be seen! Launching from Kleinbaai Harbour, it wasn’t long before we had our first encounter, a small raft of the critically endangered African penguins relaxing at the surface. Continuing towards the dive site, the Bronze whaler sharks were soon at the vessel ready to welcome divers into the water. Fantastic activity meant that all divers were able to witness these sharks up close. Additionally, a total of 3 Short-tail stingrays appeared, with their impressive length and disc size. Our final sighting was of the playful Cape fur seal, who kept the elasmobranchs company in the water. Thank you to everyone who joined us today, it was a pleasure sharing these thrilling sightings with you on board Slashfin!
