Sightings:  Great White Shark, Bronze whalers, Cape Fur Seal, Short tail stingray

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Moderate

We started our first and only trip of the day in very nice conditions, the sun was shining and the water was calm. Once we reached our anchor spot, our guests quickly changed into their wetsuits so they could get in the cage as soon as we spotted the sharks. And not long after that the first coppers sharks started to swim near our boat. The first two cages got some really nice bronzie activity with sharks big and small coming up really close to the cage. As the third cage was ready to climb in, our crew made a decision to move the anchor in order to try and show a great white shark to our divers. Fortunately, it proved to be a good call, as once we moved, a beautiful male white shark came from the deep, going for our bait. Even though he didn’t stay with us for too long it was exciting to see him so close. Just as we were getting our anchor, a short tail stingray swam past us.

If you are looking to get up close and personal with the great white shark then Cage Diving in South Africa, and more specifically with Marine Dynamics, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t want to miss.
