Number of Sharks: First Trip (7 Sharks) – Second Trip (6 Sharks) – Third Trip (6 Sharks)

Conditions: Choppy waters with a strong SE wind.

First trip of the day didn’t have to wait long before the sharks came by our boat. The first shark to grace us with its presence was a shark with a big white scar across its back. We have been seeing this shark a few times in the last week. Today he was much livelier around the bait and decoy, giving a great show of white sharks acceleration and ambush approach behaviour.  The second trip saw 6 sharks, with a few repeats from the first trip. Good action at the cage and boat from the very start, and our resident short tailed sting rays popped up to investigate the decoy. The third trip of the day was a little choppier than in the morning, but this didn’t seem to bother the sharks. We had some good action throughout the trip. Our well known shark Dolphin fin arrived at the boat. We also had a beautiful 4 m shark arrive late on who was very slow and calm around the cage. He circled the boat a few times before moving away. Then Pieter, a feisty juvenile shark approximately 3 m showed up and was extremely determined and active at the bait line. A busy and enjoyable day on the water.
