Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: 13.3°C + 15.0°C

Depth: 8.5m + 5.1m

Visibility: 1.5m +  1m

Conditions: Misty morning, with the clouds slowly dispersing in the afternoon,

We headed out to sea in a thick mist this morning. We slowly made our way to our dive-site, and once we arrived (according to our GPS), our crew placed the cage in the water and our guests received their wetsuits. Soon we were visited by our first watery guest, a Copper shark, which made several visits to see our divers in the cage. A great white came up to our vessel as well and came around for several passes, with our divers seeing this amazing animal underwater. With the mist still hanging around our vessel the trip slowly progress, with the animals coming and going as they pleased. Afterwards, as the tide was too low in Kleinbaai for us to return, we headed around Danger Point towards Gansbaai harbour, were our shuttles took our guests back to the Great White House for the end of the trip.

For our second trip of the day we cruised out of Gansbaai harbour and out to our dive site in the shallows. At first we had a couple of copper sharks that showed themselves around the boat, but we quikcly changed our anchor to a spot in shallower water and this paid off. We managed to get White and bite the large 4.5m female. She gave us some stunning passes, really showing off some of the power that she has. Next up we had the really dark white shark ar around 4.2m who cruised gently by the cage giving our divers a great opportunity to admire her beauty from the water. Finally we finished the trip up with the 3m female with the fish hook in her mouth. She was a little more feisty on this trip giving our guests a great demonstration of white shark aerial ability.

For our final trip we headed back to the shallows and as we approached the cage the 3m female was still around crusing up and down the breakers, where we were then quikcly joined by Clubtail and the 4.2m female all in quick succession. With only a small group on this trip, they managed to catch a glimpse of 3 awesome white sharks as well as a couple of stunnning copper sharks.
