After much success yesterday in the shallows, we returned to another great day of shark activity! The morning started out a bit slow, with a 30 minute wait until the first shark showed up. Despite this, we still had 4 different sharks investigate our boat and divers. One shark we know very well and call her “Little Lumpy.” She has very distinguishable scars and a large bite mark near her face. She also has a lump on her left side, hence the name “Little Lumpy.” On our second trip we returned to the shallows and immediately had a shark circling the cage! It was “Little Lumpy” back to check out our second group of divers. She put on quite a display, doing a half breach as she went for the seal decoy. She was the second largest shark we had for the day, measuring at about 3.1 meters. The largest was a male with one large scar down his left side who measured at approximately 3.3 meters. We also had a small juvenile come by towards the end who was only 1.6 meters in length. It was very cute and all of our divers said “awww” when they saw it! It was another great day in the shallows of Joubertsdom!
