Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: 13.2°C + 13.5°C +

Depth: 6.5m + 6.4m +

Visibility: 0.5m + 0.5m +

Conditions: Sunny day on a flat sea with very little wind.

We headed out into a sunrise and some mist this morning. But we got to the shallows all good and the guys prepared the cage while our divers readied themselves to et face to face with the sharks! It wasn’t long before we got our first shark this morning, with a beautiful copper sharks swimming dee beneath the cage. So we got our first group of divers in and they got to know these sharks form the sharks perspective. We had incredible activity through out the trip this morning, with every cage getting a stunning look at these sharks underwater, while we enjoyed the spectacle from above! With a happy group of divers we headed back into the harbour for the second trip!

The mist slowly started to clear up as we headed out for our second trip. We arrived at our dive-site and quickly our crew attached the cage to the side of our vessel. We handed our divers their wetsuits and the waiting game began. Surprisingly our first visitor was one of our local Cape fur seals, briefly making an appearance. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long before the first Copper sharks arrived. Our divers climbed into the cage and the sharks passed closely to the cage. We even broke a record for the youngest ever diver, as a 2-year old was lowered into the cage. Overall an amazing day out at sea.

For our final trip, we had an exclusive charter for two from Switzerland. We started this trip with a journey to the islands to check out shark alley and the seals. After a nice cruise around the islands we headed to our cage in the shallows where we witnessed some fantastic shark activity. The copper sharks really were stunning on this trip with some excellent passes by the cage and then a cheeky cape fur sela decided to join us towards the end. We had a great final trip of the day and headed back to the harbour with the sun slowly going down.
