We don’t want to jinx our luck but it looks as if our shark sightings are becoming more consistant with sharks showing up quicker and more frequently these days, however some boats are still struggling to see these amazing yet elusive animals! The morning started off well with our first sharks spotted not long after anchoring. The activity at first was dominated by a few juveniles and sub-adults that took it upon themselves to keep things interesting. A number of these sharks we have become familiar with over the last few days including a female with a patch of parasites on her head and a smaller animal with dark scaring don its’ right flank. We also had some new arrivals today with the largest shark a beautiful 4.0m+ female that popped up for a few passes. The second trip had a shark on arrival, one of the small juveniles that was still in our dive area from the first trip and by the time we had our first divers in the cage two more had arrived. These animals passed by at their own pace, a few joining in the fun everynow and again and then leaving to persue other scents and interests. Both trips today enjoyed the extra sight of Short-tailed stingrays as they glided up from the depths all day to investigate what all the sharks were fussing over! A fun, sun-filled day out on the water…
