Out to the shallows to get sharky! We dropped our anchor this morning and got our cage ready in anticipation of some shark activity. After we’d geared up in our wetsuits we got to know a bit more about the area and were joined by a very curious cape fur seal, much to the amusement of our guests on board. We tried our hardest on this trip but unfortunately we were not lucky enough to get a shark around the boat. Nevertheless we headed over to the island to go check out the seals on Geyser Rock and cruise through shark alley.
For our second trip it was straight back out to the shallows where we had a bit of a wait on our hands again. But we kept ourselves entertained with some fun facts about the sharks, and as we approached the end of the trip, where we had the seal around the boat again for most of the trip, we got ourselves a shark! This 2.8m male cruised up our chum slick as our divers were in the cage, not quite believing there was a shark around. After some convincing our divers were stunned to see this magnificent shark so close to the cage. He stayed around long enough this afternoon for everyone to spot him in all his glory underwater in the habitat that he dominates. A stunning end to a stunning day at sea.
