Trip 1
The first shark arrived within ten minutes of anchoring on the first trip. However, this 4.1 metre male made two passes and decided not to stick around. The next shark to visit the boat was a recently adopted shark known as “3 – Bird”.  She is a very active 2.7 metre shark with a lot of scaring down her right side and is always impressive to watch. It was also marvellous to see a 2.6 metre shark that was recently tagged by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.  As well as white sharks we were also visited by two Short-tail stingrays multiple times and their size and curiosity wowed the clients. A spectacular huge flock of Cape comorants flew past the boat while we were on anchor which is an incredible sight.

Trip 2
Patience was a virtue on the second trip of the day with quite a wait for our first shark. However, our patience was rewarded with a 3.6 metre shark arriving at the boat first. We also had a recently adopted shark known as “ASHNN” visit us. This active 2.4 metre juvenile is always amazing to see as she always shows some amazing behaviour around the cage.

Trip 3
The final trip of the day launched with a clear sky and sunshine, however, the swell had picked up a little. This did not deter our white sharks with the first arriving within forty minutes of anchoring. This shark was around 3.6 metres and was incredibly active around the cage. We even got to see two half breaches which were magnificent. We had a short visit from a large 4.2 metre shark whose size amazed the clients on board. Towards the end of the trip the recently adopted shark “3 – Bird” paid us a brief visit. Yet again, we also saw those curious Short – tail stingrays come up to the surface multiple times.

Beautiful day enjoying South Africa’s wildlife.
