A sunrise start for the crew and guests of Marine Dynamics this morning as our first trip saw us leaving the harbour bright and early. We arrived into the Shallows and enjoyed much of the morning as the only boat in the area. The sharks arrived quickly with those golden Bronze Whalers making their presence known early on in the trip and continueing with superb activity for the entire trip, except for one moment towards the end of the trip when things got very quite, the Bronze Whalers disappearing, leaving us all scanning the water for what had happened. The cause of the Bronze Whalers leave became apparent when out of the deep hurtled a small but feisty White shark. This individual was the same male we have been seeing most days recently, and whilst he didn’t stay long it was great to have him turn up before we headed back to land. A trip around Danger Point and into Gansbaai harbour saw the end of our morning.
The second trip of the day started with a Gansbaai launch, going once again around the Danger point, giving us the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful Gansbaai coastline. Once we reached our dive location our guests quickly geared up and were ready for their shrak cage diving experience. Bronze whalers did not make us wait for too long and our guests jumped into the cage. We had some really nice shark activity throughout the trip with a male white shark appearing out of nowhere once again today. A short-tailed stingray surfaced a few times trying to get our baits. Having had an amazing trip we headed back to the Kleinbaai harbour.
We headed back to our dive site in The Shallows for our third trip. Once we arrived our crew attached the cage to the side of the vessel, our guests climbed into their wetsuits. Not a moment later our first Copper sharks arrived. Our divers climbed into the cage and saw these beautiful sharks under water. As more and more Copper sharks arrived, they showed some amazing activity, and our guests had a fantastic time out at sea. Afterwards we headed back to shore where we finished off the trip with some delicious soup and bread.
