Daily Blog 20 January 2023 | Shark Cage Diving in South Africa

20/01/02023

Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Moderate

Visibility: Good

Sightings: Bronze whalers + Short-tail stingray

Trip 1.

We launched late in the morning with the sun high in the sky. Once we got to anchor we started to attract the sharks and it didn’t take long! Once the sharks were around we started diving! Besides the sharks, we also had quite a few glimpses of a short-tail stingray from the boat and even in the cage!

Trip 2.

A fantastic start to our second trip of the day with the sharks appearing quickly after we had re-anchored. The activity was consistent throughout the trip and we had some fantastic approaches from a high number of Bronze whaler sharks. The conditions also held out for the trip with a calm, warm and clear afternoon. A big thank you to all our guests, we hope you enjoyed your shark experience.
