Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 16.4C + 16.6C
Depth: 12.4m + 13.5m
Visibility: 2m + 2m
Number of Sharks: 11 + 11
Conditions: A rainy morning and a sunny afternoon
The morning started with a bit of rain which was not predicted. We decided to get everyone changed in the Great White House as it is more comfortable with the rain. As soon as we got to the dive site we had sharks around the boat, how lucky! Apart from the sharks we saw a short-tail stingray and on our way back we were very fortunate to spot some Common dolphins. During the first trip the weather got better as time passed and as we headed back to the harbor we even got some nice sunshine to warm everyone up. Our second trip launched at 13.30 and included a group of 20 students from the Netherlands. They came to South Africa for a research project and during the weekends they visit different places to experience more of South Africa. We were very fortunate to spot as many great whites as we spotted on our first trip, 11! and the short tail stingray decided to pay us a visit on the second trip as well.
