Waking up before dawn is probably not what you would have in mind when on holidays however visitors to South africa would understand that when it comes to many activities in this beautiful country being up and at ’em with the sunrise is a must. The trip this morning launched from Kleinbaai harbour with darkened skies slowly lighting up with streaks of pink and orange. Once on anchor the group braved the cold, morning conditions, patiently waiting in the hopes a White shark would visit, enjoying some chit chat and learning more about the Great White shark and this area whilst nursing hot chocolates or teas. The friendly Cape Fur seal made an appearance again today, looking for its’ Sunday breakfast in the form of the small mullet around the boat. After three hours on sea, Slashfin called it a day but not before making a trip out to the Island system to have a look at the impressive Cape Fur seal colony of Geyser rock and keep an eye out for any African penguins, or other wildlife that may be around.

Unfortunately a shark-less end to the week, as can be when dealing with these wild, highly migratory species, and with that a big thank you to all our guests that made the early trip through to Gansbaai to join us on the boat this morning. Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated!
