We launched from Gansbaai harbour this morning due to the low tide and enjoyed a nice ride around Danger Point! We got to the shallows prepped our divers and we had sharks quickly this morning. With our divers keen we got them in the water and up close with some awesome copper sharks. We got some awesome close passes from the copper sharks for both the first and the second cage. And then for the final group they got a bonus of two stingrays and the copper sharks with some very close interactions. With the visibility this morning pretty good our divers enjoyed excellent views both from the cage and on the boat. With a group of happy divers we headed back to Kleinbaai for some warm soup and bread.
The day progressed and we launched our second trip with a slight increase in wind and it appeared with that wind blew some White sharks our way with a large female spotted minutes after we made anchor. What an absolutely beautiful sight she was, this was White and Bite, a female seen back in March of this year, and which can be identified by the white pigmentation or rosie on the left side of her dorsal fin and the bite scar on her right flank. Fantastic to see her back in the bay, looking buig and healthy and showing some impressive behaviour. A smaller White shark, approximately 2.5m in length also made an appearance, sneakily approaching from deep, giving us all a great surprise as it rushed towards the surface multiple times. Towards the end of the trip our White shark sightings slowed down, however with this the Bronze Whalers took advantage and made their way towards us, keeping us all enthralled for the rest of the trip.
