We headed out this morning with mixed conditions and arrived at our dive site to murky waters that unfortunately did not clear throughout the day. This morning’s trip was for a large group of visitor’s from Mexico keen to have a look at a Great White shark! It did not take long for our first shark to arrive, a male over the 3.0m length and in the beginning very active, making it’s first few minutes around the boat very exciting for those on board as it leapt out of the water and kept passing by the cage. This shark then proceeded to come into view every now and again throughout the trip. We also had another, smaller shark around throughout this trip that was quite shy and not really coming to the surface for us but happy to cruise around the boat a little deeper! The second trip of the day started off well with a shark arriving before our divers were in their wetsuits! This was a female we know well from the Shallows and Island and we saw for the first time in a while yesterday with some fresh bite marks to her head. She has now been nicknamed by the crew as “Scarlett”. She stuck with us for the entire trip, bringing some great activity to the boat . We also had Little Smithy”, a juvenile female we have become acquainted with well over the last few days pay us a visit however, possibly due to the presence of a larger shark around, she did not stick around too long and was quite shy compared to her active behaviour we have seen on previous trips! All in all a fantastic day in the shallows…
