Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: 14.2°C + 14.4°C

Depth: 8.1m + 7.5m

Visibility: 1m + 1m

Conditions: Patchy fog through the day but calm and warm at sea

Our first trip headed into the fog this morning! We approached our anchor site in the shallows and got our divers geared up for their shark cage dive experience. And it did not disappoint today, while we only had 2 white sharks today, the first of which was only brief, mini-nemo brought his A game. He was with us for all 4 cages today, and he was up to his mischievous self, trying his best and in some cases succeeding in getting his teeth around the bait line. In between mini-nemo’s shenanigans, we had a couple of copper sharks, which is nice to still have them around. And for a real bonus we even encountered a few common dolphins breaching on the way back to the harbour!

For our second trip it was once again out to The Shallows. The waters were incredibly flat, so we arrived very quickly, and soon our divers were in their wetsuits. Our first visitor was Mini-Nemo, a white shark we love to see around the boat. He was soon followed by a line-up of other beautiful individuals, including a brief visit of a Copper shark. While the visibility was not great, the view of these animals from the boat was memorable. Soon we headed back, where our guests finished the trip with some delicious vegetable soup and home-made bread.
