Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Moderate

Visibility: Good

Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Cape fur seals, Short-tail stingray & African penguins

Summary: A great afternoon on the water, with a launch from Gansbaai harbour to account for a low tide in the local bay. Making our way past the scenic Danger Point, we encountered a raft of the critically endangered African penguins. Continuing towards the dive site, the Bronze whaler sharks arrived promptly, encouraging guests to change into wetsuits and join the sharks in the water. Multiple individuals of varying sizes were present, with good visibility offering up close sightings. The sharks were accompanied by 2 Short-tail stingrays, impressively sized animals that were far from shy! Thank you for joining us on board Slashfin, it was a pleasure having you with us!
