Sightings:  Bronze whalers and a Short-tailed stingray

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Moderate

A later launch today as we set out onto the water at 11am, allowing us to enjoy the perfect conditions the bay had on offer. With the wind dropping, little to no swell and lots of sunshine one might have mistaken today for a pleasant Summers day. The sun was not the only thing shining today with those Bronze whalers giving us some amazing views above and below water. We had little time to wait before our first sighting and by the end of the trip we had seen a nice number of individuals approaching the boat, all appearing to be large adults, mostly female but with a male spotted now and again. The Short-tailed stingray graced us with its’ presence towards the end of the trip, gliding up from the deep before heading back the way it came. A beautiful Friday afternoon spent out on board Slashfin.
