The team on board Slashfin and our guests like always tried their absolute best to find the sharks in our bay today with such patience seen on one of our longest ever trips! We headed into the Shallows, the second boat to settle on anchor, however we were soon joined by the others, and we all waited. News spread across the bay that a Short-tailed stingray had been seen here and there yet no sign of the much sort after close realtives , the White shark or Bronze Whaler. With most of the other boats heading back to land we decided to try the offshore system that is the Island. Once re-anchored in front of Dyer Island we yet again began the waiting game but with no such luck. Before heading back to land, we made a pass through Shark Alley and had a closer look at the Cape Fur seal inhabitants of Geyser Rock.
We would like to extend a big thank you to our guests today for joining us on our extended search for sharks. Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated and we hope to have some good news for all soon regarding shark sightings back in our bay.
