Location: Joubertsdam

Temperature: 19.1°C + 19.9°C

Depth: 9.2m + 8.1m

Visibility:  1.5m + 2m

Conditions: Sunny on a flat sea, with little wind.

The sun was hot in the sky and the sea flat, as we headed out towards our dive site. As the cage was dropped into the water and attached to our vessel, our divers jumped into their wetsuits and moments later the first Copper sharks arrived. It was an amazing day out at sea as our divers witnessed the sharks passing close by the cage in beautiful mid-summer waters.

In the afternoon we once again headed to the Shallows and saw that the Copper sharks were waiting for us there. Our divers quickly jumped into the cage, and once again were amazing by the beauty of these fantastic animals. A cheeky young Cape fur seal hung around our vessel for a while, not really phased by all the large sharks swimming about. Later an adult Cape fur seal appeared, and showed off it’s recently captured lunch: a small shyshark. After an amazing time out at sea, we headed back, where our guests enjoyed some nice soup and home-made bread.
