This morning it was fully overcast when we headed out on a flat, flat sea towards our dive site. At our site we quickly put the cage in water and our divers got ready. Our first visitor was a Cape fur seal that briefly hung around the vessel before disappearing quickly. However, the Copper sharks soon arrived. While the clouds on the horizon spelled rain and storm, it remained relatively dry. While a few tiny drops did fell, it was nothing that would make our guests more wet than they already were coming out of the cage. A short-tailed stingray also briefly visited, and our divers were amazed by the size of these animals. Towards the end of the trip, the copper sharks became increasingly more active. Soon we headed back to the harbour, where our divers enjoyed some amazing vegetable soup and home-made bread.
Just as the sky cleared up we headed out again for our second trip of the day. As soon as we reached the dive site and picked up our cage first copper sharks started to arrive. Our divers quickly jumped in their wetsuits and first nine entered the cage. Sharks were very entertaining and came up very close to the cage allowing everyine in it to enjiy their beauty. Just as we were about to get our last divers back on the boat, a Cape Fur seal came up to say hi, porpoising around the boat. We finished earlier than usual which gave us some time to take a detour to Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, the home of 60,000 Cape Fur seals.
