Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 15.6’C
Depth: 8.34m
Visibility: 1.0m
Number of Sharks: 6
Conditions: An absolutely beautiful sunrise. However, a lot of cloud cover and a drizzle of rain.

The morning started with an absolutely breathtaking sunrise across Kleinbaai harbour.  The sharks did not keep us waiting long with the first arriving within ten minutes of anchoring. This was 2.7 metre shark and was giving the clients some magnificent views from the cage. The second shark to arrive at the boat was a juvenile that was recently tagged by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.  The next to visit us was Scarlett, an extraordinary 4.0 metre female, with scars from a possible bite wound.  Clients were in awe of her massive size and gracefulness around the boat.  We were also visited by a feisty 3.5 metre male who was extremely active and exciting to watch. Throughout the trip we had some curious Short – tail stingrays swimming past the cage which was also great fun for the clients. As well as sharks and rays, we were lucky enough to see thousands of Cape cormorants flying around and past our boat. It was absolutely remarkable to witness this nature event. On the way back to the harbour we visited the famous Shark Alley to see the incredible sixty thousand Cape fur seals that inhabit Geyser Rock.

A truly spectacular day enjoying some of South Africa’s incredible wildlife.
