“The trip was incredible. The knowledgeable crew was great at finding the sharks and telling us about them. The crew was great at directing us in the cage and bringing the sharks to us” – Gabriel

Location: Gansbaai, South Africa

Dive site: Joubertsdam

Water temp: Moderate

Visibility: Poor

Sightings: Bronze whaler sharks, Short-tail stingray, African Penguins, Cape Cormorants

Summary:
We started our trip not to early in the morning so the ocean looked nice and welcoming with very mild conditions and sun shining bright! As soon as we got to the dive site we started our work trying to attract the sharks, which did not take us too long: by the time everyone’s changed into their wetsuits we were good to go! The Bronze whalers were out to play and we got some nice activity out of them. We had mostly female sharks around us, but also saw a glimpse of a large male swimming by. We were also incredinly lucky to be visited by a Short-tail stingray a couple of times! On the way back to the harbour we came across a raft of African penguins busy catching their lunch.
