Location: Joubertsdam

Temperature: 11.5°C + 11.2°C

Depth: 9.1m + 8.5m

Visibility: 1m + 1m

Conditions: Overcast with the sun breaking through in the afternoon.

Slashfin rode across the waves as we headed to The Shallows. We anchored and got the cage ready, while our divers got into their wetsuits. After a short while the first Copper sharks arrived, and our guests on the top deck took many photos as the animals passed by. Our guests had a great time in the cage. We soon headed back to shore, and our divers finished the trip with some nice vegetable soup and home-made bread.

For our second trip we arrived at the shallows and got our guests into their suits ready for some sharks. With a little bit of a wait on this trip, we had some sharky discussions and got to learn a little more about the area. We did manage to get our eyes on one shark for one pass, but it seemed like they didn’t fancy much this afternoon. However we had a fantastic bunch of clients today, where everyone got into the cage to have a bit of a splash in the cage, with some cage dive quiz games and more importantly prizes we had some fun in the shallows in spite of the lack of sharks. We headed over to the island after the trip to go check out shark alley and what the seals were up to, seemingly chilling in the afternoon sun without a care in the world!
