Conditions: A beautiful sunny day with a light breeze.

We launched into stunning morning sunshine today for our first trip, arriving to our anchor site in great time. It wasn’t long until we got our first shark, well actually several turned up at the same time! We had a great start with some stunning activity from the copper sharks. With sharks around we got our divers in the water and face to face with some excellent sharks, some of which were huge for coppers at just over 3m. We also had a cape fur seal pop up briefly with our second group of divers, which is always amusing to witness as they chase the copper sharks around a bit. For our final group we still had some stunning activity from the copper sharks and some very happy divers getting back on board Slashfin.

On the second trip we headed straight back to our dive site. It didn’t take long for the first Copper sharks to arrive and our divers quickly got into the cage. As the sharks swam around, entertaining our guests, the dark shadow of a Short-tailed stingray passed underneath the cage. Unfortunately the stingray never came up high enough to be properly viewed. However, later in the trip a Cape fur seal shot past the vessel, giving our guests a brief glimpse at the speed these animals can swim at. By the end of the trip our divers were amazed by the beautiful animals swimming around, and soon we headed back to shore where some nice soup and bread was waiting for them at the Great White House.
