“Sharktastic!| ~ Jordan

Location: Joubertsdam

Temperature: 14.7°C + 15.3°C

Depth: 9.3m + 9.2m

Visibility: 1m + 1m

Conditions: A bright sunny day with no wind.

We left the harbour in the beautiful weather conditions with no wind and the sun shining bright. Once we reached our dive sight our guests put their wetsuits on and were ready to enter the cage at the first sight of the sharks. As soon as the first copper shark appeared next to our boat, the divers  excitedly got into the cage. Copper sharks were very active throughout the first trip, curiously investigating the cage and the divers in it. A cape fur seal came around the boat several times, putting up quite a show by chasing and catching fish around us. Unfortunately, after some time we had to head back to the harbour while we left the cage behind for the next trip. But our guests were welcomed back on land with some delicious soup and homemade bread.

Once again Slashfin headed back to sea full of guests excited to see some sharks. As the sun shone bright in the sky our guests excitedly waited for the first copper shark to arrive. The moment the first shark arrived our divers entered the cage. The sharks seemed to be a bit more weary this time around, however, our divers still got a fantastic view of them as they passed by the cage. The Atlantic surprised us as a sudden mist bank appeared out of nowhere, and half an hour later disappeared just as quickly. Later in the trip a small cape fur seal popped up, and swam hurriedly around the boat several times, before disappearing into the murky waters. As the sun started to make it’s slow descent to the horizon, we headed back to the harbour where once again our guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon snack.
