Nature continues to give us some beautiful conditions on the sea, with todays’ trip heading out to a flat bay and a slight wind however it was a little overcast and chilly out on the water. We anchored and waited patiently, passing the time talking about the possible sharks e might see and what they get up to when they are not visiting Gansbaai. An hour later and no luck our Skipper, Pieter, decided it was time to move and try our luck else where and within moments of re-anchoring we had our first shark for Friday, a juvenile male, part of our tagging program named Francois. Minutes later we already had logged three different White sharks. New sharks continued to show up throughout the trip, however many kept deep and chose their moment to make an appearance. We had some lovely, large females around this morning with three sharks 4.0m and above joining the action. One as a large female with a distinctive notch in her dorsal fin and a bite mark on her right side and made some spectacular movements around the boat, one of the others was none other than the large female with a couple parasites on her head, we have been seeing frequently over the past few days, known for her ambush attempts on the bait and decoy line. It looks like Friday the 13th wasn’t bad luck for those who joined us on board Slashfin …
