Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 14.4°C
Depth: 7.9m
Visibility: 1.0m
Number of Sharks: 0
Conditions: Sunny morning with a light breeze and calm seas.

We were in for an early treat this morning as we left the harbour and stumbled across a lone Humpback Dolphin, cruising in the shallows. After a couple of beautiful surfaces the individual dove and decided to go onward with its day, as did we. A pleasant 15 minute steam later and we arrived at our dive site in the shallows. Off with the cage and we eagerly waited for our shark friends to arrive at Slashfin. With the sun shining and the sea conditions close to perfect, we discussed all things shark and got to grips with their movements and the current goings on in the local ecosystem. It wasn’t long though until a cheeky Cape Fur Seal decided to join us and have a play with the decoy. This offered a great opportunity for our guests to hop in the cage and get some great shots of the playful seal (see trip pics!!).

After our trip we cruised over to shark alley, where the visibility was absolutely fantastic today. Unfortunately our white shark friends decided not to visit us today, but we will remain persistent over the coming days to get our eyes on the sharks.
