Trip 1
The Slashfin crew were up bright and early this morning to drop our cage and save our anchor spot before driving around Danger Point to meet out first group of shark cage divers in Gansbaai Harbour due to some low waters in our usual harbour of Kleinbaai. Once we had made our way back around the point we were lucky to encounter our first White shark within moments of arriving. The activity seen during this morning’s trip was fantastic with sharks almost constantly around with the addition of three Short-tailed Stingrays gliding around. We had some of our favourites show up to the boat this morning with “Pieter” and “Paisley” both tagged with acoustic tags on the 1st of December last year, allowing our guests a look at some of the research work that we undertake with our Dyer Island Conservation Trust. We also had a feisty, juvenile male we refer to as “Spagetti” show up and put on quite an impressive representation of the speed and agility a White shark is capable of.

Trip 2
The second trip of the day launched out from Kleinbaai Harbour as our tide had come up high enough and were welcomed back into the Shallows with a White shark sighting not too long after re-anchoring!
