What a beautiful day to end the week! We didn’t make it out in the bay yesterday due to weather and water conditions not being a bit tough so was great to be back on the water today with such fantastic conditions. Unfortunately due to the storms the water was quite murky, but with a clear, cloudless sky we could see the sharks nicely once at the surface. When we have days off sometimes you worry that the sharks may have gone a bit deeper or moved out of the bay, no need to worry today though as we had our first shark around within 10 minutes of arriving. This was “Mini Nemo” a juvenile male with a stunted pectoral fin who we sighted back I nthe bay only few days ago. This shark proved to be the most exciting of both trips today leaping out of the water with his quick ambush technique! We also had a large female on both trips, she was the largest of the day yet did not stick around but preferred to cruise on by and head on her way. The second trip also saw “Caroline” probably one of the sharks who frequents the boat most often at the moment come on by at the beginning of the trip before a large male, that has been nickname “Parry”, due to all its parasites, came hurtling in and scared her off! Both trips today we also lucky enough to see mutliple Souther Right whales on the way to and from the dive sight! A lovely way to end the week wouldn’t you say?…
