Sightings:  Great White Sharks, Bronze whalers

Location: Joubertsdam

Water Temperature: Moderate

Visibility: Poor

What a FINtastic day!!! We started nice and early today, early enough to catch a beautiful sunrise. As soon as we got to our anchor spot we got copper sharks straight away. They were a little bit shy to begin with but still came really close to the cage letting the divers to see them up close. Just as we were about to get our first divers out of the cage a white shark went for the bait, jumping out of nowhere. It was a beautiful feisty little female at around 2.8m, which we’ve been lucky to have around. As usual she was full of energy jumping out of the water trying to get our decoy.  Once everyone got their chance with her in the water, we headed back to the harbour to pick up the next lucky group.

The day of jawsomeness wasn’t over yet! For our second trip we were joined by wonderful ladies from a lacrosse team all the way from USA. As soon as we got back to our cage, we where greeted by our beautiful male white shark, Shaun. He was quite a change after the female shark as he was much more relaxed, just cruising next to the cage, actually giving a chance for divers to have a good look at him. But just as we had the second cage in our female shark came back giving us quite a show once more! It is always so interesting to see two different sharks in one trip and actually show our guests that all sharks are different and have their own personalities. And as a cherry on top by the end of the trip the copper sharks’ activity picked up significantly, so today we had them all!
