Visibility: Poor
Sightings: Bronze whaler shark, Short-tail stingray + Storm petrels
Summary: A busy day on the water, with reducing wind and increasing temperatures showing that summer hasn’t yet left us! The first trip of the day had an early launch, with the fresh start being rewarded by active Bronze whaler sharks. A decline in water temperature did not deter the sharks, and guests were well prepared with their wetsuits and excitement. Multiple individuals were present throughout the trip, with the arrival of the large Short-tail stingray taking guests by surprise. With unique dorsal markings, we were able to log the individual to a known ray that has been periodically spotted since 2018!
